We left our house at 7:30 am the day of Julia and Greg's wedding. It was raining like crazy as we left Rochester and headed towards the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, NH. I was disappointed to think that we would be stuck inside all day and not be able to use the beautiful grounds at the Castleton. We arrived at the venue just before 9:00 and, to our surprise, the rain had stopped and blue sky was peeking out from behind the cloud-filled sky! Although the grounds were too wet to have the ceremony outside, we were able to capture several beautiful images outside before the reception festivities got underway. It turned into the most gorgeous day!!!
Ewwww, they are kissing again!
It is too bad that a rainbow did not appear after the rain storm ended. That would have been perfect for this rainbow-themed wedding!
Julia and her bridesmaids folded 1,000 paper cranes in rainbow colors for the wedding. The Japanese legend states that if you fold 1,000 paper cranes, you will be granted one wish! I'm not sure what Julia wished for, but I'm sure it was a great wedding day wish!
Photobombed by the man with the incredible mustache!
And here he is again, taking over for the DJ!
I recognized this gentlemen as soon as I saw him at the wedding. It took me a few minutes to figure out where I thought I knew him from. I had to ask him to be sure, but sure enough, he was the limo driver at another wedding that I photographed in 2006! Even eight years later, I still think he might be the best limo driver that I've ever worked with at a wedding!
The bride and groom played a trick on their single guests. They had the single women gather behind the bride while the single men gathered behind the groom. The singles thought that the bride would throw the bouquet to the women and that the groom would toss the garter to the men. Well, they did the opposite and this poor guy caught the bouquet. He was then tortured on the dance floor by having the garter placed on his leg by the woman who caught it. (Side note: I think he got brownie points from his girlfriend pictured above!)
We had a wonderful time photographing this wedding at the Castleton. The staff was great and we really enjoyed working with Ashley, the venue coordinator. The guests had a blast dancing to the music being played by Russ Sheehan from Get Down Tonight Entertainment. Julia and Greg gave away mini bottles of wine as their wedding favors. They brewed, bottled and labeled the wine bottles themselves!
Julia and Greg: We pray that the two of you will have an amazing marriage that will last forever and always!!!
