Camp weddings are becoming more and more popular. This was our second camp wedding in less than two months. I can see why people love this style for their big day. Camp Kiwanee had so many cool locations for photos. We didn't even get a chance to use all of the unique spots on the property. We arrived at the camp just as the Needles Lodge was being decorated for the wedding and reception. We were able to capture some detail shots while family and friends decorated the venue before taking pictures of the wedding party getting ready. Once everyone was dressed for the occasion, we started the "First Look" session with Mallory and Eric. We love photographing the happy couple seeing each other for the first time in their wedding attire! Once the "First Look" session was completed, Mallory and Eric took a few moments to read the letters that they had written to each other prior to their big day. They both read them aloud separately and each of the letters were so incredibly sweet! I think my eyes watered while listening to each of them read what they had written to each other. We then moved on to photographing the wedding party and finished just as the guests were starting to arrive for the ceremony.
The beautiful ceremony was held on the porch overlooking the lake. The cool breeze off of the lake felt so good on this warm August afternoon! The ceremony was filled with great laughs, sweet moments and much love and joy. We had some great laughs while taking the various formal family pictures after the ceremony and then switched locations to take some more photos of the wedding party and newlyweds. The new Mr. and Mrs. were announced to their guests and got the reception started with their first dance. The reception was filled with good food, great laughs, lots of dancing, funny and touching toasts, and many, many good memories. Please check out the photos below and don't forget to leave a comment at the bottom! You can also see Mallory and Eric's engagement pictures here.
